Every day, Liam entertains and amazes me. You always hear that little children are like sponges but it is incredible to watch the 'sponging' in action! Our drive to school this morning is the perfect example of all he knows.
When we left the house he said bye-bye and waved and blew a kiss to Daddy. Once we're in the car he requests (demands) a toy to play with, He favorite thing lately is the bicycle tire pump. He loves pumping it and hearing the air whoosh out. As we cruise down the highway Liam sings, chit chats, and makes funny noises. He also points out things on the road, trucks ("uff"), buses ("bu"), and the billboard for the Zoo with a giraffe on it ("raff"). When we go through downtown, he points out the football ("ba") stadium. I've pointed it out to him before and explained they play ball there. We also cross over a steel-deck bridge which makes a humming sounds as you drive over it. Once we to the other side and the humming stops, Liam recreates the noise himself. His school is on the grounds of a federal building so he have to stop and check in with the guard. He waves hi and bye-bye to him. When we arrive at school, he twists his arms underneath the shoulder straps of his carseat to get out. He also knows just when the school door will pop open after I enter the security code. He really is an amazing kid!

I know me!
Yesterday Liam and I were playing the game "where is..." and he demonstrated a new understanding. I asked him where Daddy was and he pointed at Geoff. I asked where Mommy was and he pointed to me. Then, I asked him where Liam was and he pointed to himself! I thought that was pretty smart!

Pictures
Just a few random pictures...going for a hike before The Wind Storm (Ike) tried to kill us...

His hair had a mind of its own that day.

This little car was Liam's favorite thing that afternoon.
The manatee house at the zoo...
Liam's favorite new game is to chase a soccer ball down the driveway, the driveway won this point...nice road rash.

Communication
Liam is picking up language very quickly. So far he says (with the Liam to English translation):
Da-Da
Ma-Ma
No
Uh-Oh
Da (dog, duck)
Mow (what a cat says)
Woof (what a dog says, of course)
Ba (ball, bear, box)
Ba-ba (what a sheep says, bye-bye)
Bu-ba (bubbles)
Nana (banana)
Gurt (yogurt)
Ma and Ry-Ry (two of his favorite cousins!)
Ga (GOAL!, GO! - as in ready, set, go!)
Rouw (what a lion says -he just did this one this past weekend)
Bir and ka (bird and cat, I think, I've only heard them once or twice)
Liam also knows a bit of sign language: more, milk, all done, drink, hat, bird, please, he just did the sign for eat today, he also waves hi and good bye and blows kisses (this may also be the sign for thank you, I'm not sure).
He's the best!
